01The problem money never solved

Money is good at moving. It has always been bad at remembering.

Every kind of money we have ever made can be taken from you and leave nothing behind. A Spesmilo can’t.

Three ordinary disasters — three different walls, each breached a different way — show the hole at the centre of it.

Case A · Cash — the pickpocket

A wallet changes hands on a crowded platform. Cash carries no name, no history, no proof — whoever holds it, owns it. There is nothing to trace and nothing to bring back.

Case B · Deception — the scammer

No lock breaks. A caller persuades you to move the money yourself. Because you authorised it, there is nothing to claw back — the system worked perfectly, and you still lost everything.

Case C · Digital — the bank hack

An attacker drains the account overnight. A bank may issue a substitute to make you whole — but the actual balance taken is already split and laundered. You were refunded. You were never restored.

The thing all three share

The money survives — but the truth of who it belonged to does not. Ownership is a story we keep on the outside: in a pocket, in a moment of trust, in a bank’s word. Never inside the money itself.

So we asked a different question: what if the coin remembered? What if it knew its own identity, could prove whose it was — and when something went wrong, could be found and returned, not merely replaced? That coin is the Spesmilo. The rest of this page is how.

02Encryption without trust

The internet was given encryption. It was never given trust.

Encryption hides what you send. It has never proven who is truly on the other end — or whether they should be trusted with whatever happens next. Every day, private connections carry money, records, and authority to parties no one actually verified.

Harvest now, decrypt later

The privacy we have today is borrowed. Adversaries are harvesting encrypted data now and storing it untouched, waiting for the day a quantum computer can break it open — financial records, state communications, intellectual property, legal documents, medical records, identity data. What is secret now is being collected now, to be read later.

Our answer

Every coin key and every uploaded file is wrapped with post-quantum algorithms — so custody survives a future quantum computer, defeating “harvest-now, decrypt-later.”

Our mission

Make digital trust verifiable before sensitive action is allowed.

Our vision

Build the Trust Before Transport™ architecture for regulated systems in the post-quantum era.

The Spesmilo [SMX] is not a token to speculate on. It is the unit that carries verifiable trust into the systems that need it most. QuantumHandshake™ proves who is really there before anything of value moves; the Spesmilo is what moves, once trust is proven — money that finally knows who it belongs to, on a network that finally knows who it is talking to.

03The name — Spesmilo, 1907

A borderless-money dream, carried by cryptography.

In 1907, at the height of a movement that believed the world could share one language, a Swiss thinker proposed that it might also share one money. The spesmilo — one thousand spesoj — was designed as an international unit of value, tied to no nation and no crown. For a brief window before the First World War, an Esperantist bank in London even issued real cheques denominated in it. Then the war scattered the dream, and the world went back to borders.

A century later, this utility coin carries that same borderless ambition forward — cryptography strong enough to survive the next century of computers, and given something the original never had: a way for every single coin to prove exactly what it is, and whose it is.

04CoinDNA lifecycle binding

Movement bound to lifecycle evidence.

Every Spesmilo is minted with its own CoinDNA — a cryptographic fingerprint (SHA3-512, rewritten as a 256-base double helix, the same living genome shown in the hero above) that stays with the coin for life. SMX movement references this trail, so asset state can be traced across mint, transfer, custody, freeze, verdict, compensation, and audit review.

CoinDNA is a platform-wide mechanism, not exclusive to SMX. For the full construction — the SHA3-512-to-genome math, the live base-pair readout, and the uniqueness proof — see CoinDNA →

05Your ownership — engraved forever, or incognito

You choose how the world sees it.

When a Spesmilo becomes yours, that fact is written into its permanent record — its chain of custody — alongside its genome. You can prove it is yours without asking anyone’s permission.

Engraved · public

Your identity is bound to the coin — visible, verifiable, permanent. Provenance and prestige, the way a name sits on a deed or a title. Anyone can confirm it is yours; no one can quietly rewrite it.

Incognito · VIP

For a public figure, an institution, or anyone who values discretion: personal details are encrypted, and the coin shows only a unique anonymous ID. You still own it, still prove it — and can selectively disclose your identity to exactly whom you choose, through CoinJustice.

Ownership is recorded in the coin’s custody chain — bound to the coin alongside its DNA — not written into the genome hash itself. Incognito mode encrypts personal data at rest; selective disclosure is governed by CoinJustice, so identity is revealed by choice, never by default.

06The Five-Pillar Shield

Five guarantees, standing behind one coin.

Together they are the shield we call C·A·T·P·W.

01
Confidential ML-KEM · FIPS-203

Key exchange a quantum computer cannot unwind. What is private stays private — even against “harvest now, decrypt later.”

02
Authentic ML-DSA · FIPS-204

Every action is signed with a post-quantum signature. You know who acted, and that it was really them.

03
Tamper-evident SLH-DSA · FIPS-205

A hash-based seal that makes any alteration detectable. Change one byte and the seal shows it.

04
Permanent ledger anchor

Every event is anchored to an append-only ledger. What happened, stays happened.

05
Witnessed validator quorum

A quorum of independent validators must agree before anything is final. No single party decides the truth.

ConfidentialAuthenticTamper-evidentPermanentWitnessed

Built on genuine NIST post-quantum cryptography — ML-KEM-1024, SLH-DSA-128f, SHA3-512 (FIPS 203/204/205). Algorithm-grade and self-attested today; formal validation (FIPS 140-3 / CMVP) is on the roadmap. What is genuinely a first is the Evidence Certificate that binds all five pillars into one portable artifact you can verify yourself.

07When something goes wrong — CoinJustice & JuryChain

The three disasters in §01 had no answer. A Spesmilo does.

Stolen, taken by deception, or moved in error — a Spesmilo’s genome and custody chain keep it identifiable no matter where it goes. CoinJustice is where a claim is raised; JuryChain is how it is decided — not by us, and not by any single authority, but by a quorum of independent jurors weighing the evidence.

Step 1 · Claim

The rightful owner raises a case in CoinJustice, with the coin’s genome as evidence.

Step 2 · Trace

The genome and custody chain locate the exact coin, wherever it has moved.

Step 3 · Jury

Independent jurors on JuryChain weigh the evidence and decide.

Step 4 · Restore

If upheld, the same coin — not a substitute — returns to its owner.

The promise from §01, kept

Where every other system could only refund you with a substitute, a Spesmilo can be restored — the same genome, back in the right hands.

This is a governance process, not a reversal of physics. Cryptography guarantees the coin’s identity and the integrity of the evidence; JuryChain provides a fair, witnessed process to act on it. Recovery depends on the jury’s adjudication — the system makes theft answerable, which is precisely what money never was.

08Green by design

Trust does not have to cost the earth.

The Spesmilo does not mine by burning electricity in a global race — there is no proof-of-work arms race here. Minting a coin is a light, deliberate act, and every coin records a modeled estimate of the energy that act took: measured on the order of milliwatt-hours, not the kilowatt-hours a proof-of-work coin spends to move a single payment.

Every Coin Passport shows this openly — with the figure labelled as modeled and the method printed in the footnotes — because an honest small number is worth more than an impressive fabricated one. Green by design, and built to prove it, for the ESG standards of the regulated systems we intend to serve.

The per-coin energy figure is a modeled estimate, derived from the sealed mint telemetry (measured duration, a host CPU snapshot, and a declared power constant) — not a metered laboratory reading. It is presented as an estimate everywhere it appears, and the assumptions are stated alongside it.

Looking ahead

As the wider QCC / CQV / QTC system matures, SMX is intended to extend this same measured, ESG-aligned approach to transmission usage itself — alongside the existing per-coin minting-energy estimate. This is a roadmap direction, not a capability available today.

09Assurance — don’t trust, verify it yourself

Everything above is designed to be checked, not merely believed.

Guaranteed

What cryptography secures — identity, confidentiality, tamper-evidence — we call guaranteed.

Governed

What a jury decides — recovery, disclosure, adjudication — we call governance, honestly scoped.

Modeled

What is estimated — such as energy — we label modeled, with the method shown.

We are self-attested and tamper-evident, witnessed by a 10-validator committee quorum rather than a single authority, and precise about what that means: independent CMVP module validation is a separate exercise. We publish the raw proofs and a verifier you can run, so every claim on this page is one you can check for yourself.

This page is an explainer, not an offering or investment advice; “utility coin” describes a functional role. FIPS-203/204/205 are referenced as NIST post-quantum standard families. CoinDNA is a unique cryptographic identity fingerprint — a structural metaphor, not biology. Recovery via CoinJustice / JuryChain is a governance process adjudicated by a jury, not a cryptographic guarantee of reversal. Energy figures are modeled estimates with stated assumptions. Heritage details are public-domain history.
