CovalenceBlockOS™

Identity, policy, governance state, and BlockOS foundation for the Covalence Stack.

01What CovalenceBlockOS™ is

The governance and trust-state backbone.

CovalenceBlockOS™ is the identity, policy, governance, and trust-state backbone of the Covalence Stack. It provides the Blockchain OS foundation that binds service identity, domain state, policy context, validator evidence, revocation state, and audit trails into a verifiable operating layer.

Scope boundary

CovalenceBlockOS™ does not replace enterprise IAM, TLS, SIEM, APIs, or applications. It provides a governed trust-state layer that QuantumHandshake™ can consult before high-value sessions proceed.

02Role inside QuantumHandshake™

Four kinds of state, one governed layer.

Identity State

Binds wallet, alias, domain, service identity, and public-key references.

Policy State

Stores jurisdiction, usage, validity windows, revocation state, and governance context.

Evidence State

Anchors certificates, session artifacts, microcontainer metadata, and audit lineage.

Governance State

Supports validator registry, policy updates, dispute/reversal hooks, and finality references.

03BlockOS foundation

BlockOS: microkernel + microcontainers.

CovalenceBlockOS™ is designed as a Blockchain OS rather than a monolithic chain. The microkernel coordinates core runtime functions such as cryptographic operations, validator routing, block sealing, and service orchestration. Microcontainers attach block- or artifact-specific metadata, policy, signatures, jurisdictional context, and audit trails.

04Microkernel + microcontainers

An operating core, and a passport per block.

Microkernel

  • Minimal secure runtime
  • Crypto operations
  • Validator routing
  • Block sealing
  • Resource scheduling
  • Service orchestration

Microcontainers

  • Per-block / per-artifact metadata
  • Compliance and jurisdiction tags
  • Validator signatures
  • State signatures
  • Audit trails
  • Reversibility flags where implemented
How to read this

The microkernel gives the system its operating core. Microcontainers give each block or artifact its policy, passport, and evidence trail.

05Trust state & identity binding

What CovalenceBlockOS™ binds.

Binding areaWhat is boundWhy it matters
Domain / Service Domain, service identity, public keys Prevents trust from being reduced to a symbolic hostname.
Wallet / Alias Wallet address, alias, owner or service reference Connects trust to a governed identity state.
Policy Validity, jurisdiction, revocation, usage rules Makes policy a verifiable session input.
Evidence Hashes, anchors, signatures, validator references Gives auditors a trail to inspect.
06Governance & policy state

Governance is state, not decoration.

CovalenceBlockOS™ stores or references the governance state needed by higher layers: validator registry, issuance trails, revocation status, policy epochs, evidence anchors, and optional dispute or reversibility metadata. QuantumHandshake™ uses this state to evaluate whether a high-value session should proceed.

07Interaction across the Covalence Stack

How CovalenceBlockOS™ state is consumed.

BCQP™

Uses CovalenceBlockOS-linked trust state during pre-transport verification.

DCBA™

Uses CovalenceBlockOS anchors and signatures to bind identity, policy, and evidence.

NSQC™

Uses validator and governance state to produce quorum-backed finality records.

QuantumTransmission™

Uses approved session state and receipts after QuantumHandshake™ allows movement.

08Trust boundaries

CovalenceBlockOS™ trust boundary.

BoundaryCovalenceBlockOS™ responsibilityFailure behaviour
Identity state Provide or anchor verified identity and binding records Refuse or hold if identity state is missing, stale, or inconsistent.
Policy state Provide validity, revocation, jurisdiction, and usage context Refuse if required policy state is absent or invalid.
Validator state Maintain references to validator registry and governance state Refuse or degrade if registry state cannot support the required proof.
Evidence state Preserve links to hashes, anchors, signatures, and audit lineage Do not treat unsigned or unanchored evidence as final.
The boundary in one line

CovalenceBlockOS™ is not the application. It is the governed trust-state layer that lets applications and gateways make evidence-bearing trust decisions.
